Sharon Lynn Leaving Post as City Manager After 8 Years

City Manager Sharon Lynn says, "It's time for a break after 49 years of public service. While I'm looking forward to the next chapter, I'm very pleased and humbled to have been in this position for over 8 years and to have accomplished so much, including bringing Rehoboth Beach into the 21st century. I'm most proud of the staff I've hired and promoted."

"The team I've developed is well prepared to continue to move the city ahead and face the challenges of the future."

Among Lynn's many significant accomplishments is the fact she was named City Manager of the Year in 2018 by the Delaware League of Local Governments. Under her competent leadership, the city earned the prestigious and nationally recognized Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association, for the first time.

When asked about Rehoboth Beach Main Street, she stated, "RBMS has come back very strong the past couple of years. They are doing a very good job. Dan [Slagle], as Executive Director, is a great friend of the city and has truly focused the mission of Main Street. He is making a positive difference with the Board of Director members I know." When asked about the future of RBMS, Sharon Lynn noted, "It's critical for Main Street to communicate and collaborate with the city. Ongoing communication is the key. Rehoboth Beach Main Street needs to always include city officials in their events."

"Main Street has an important role to play with the city in the future."

RBMS sincerely thanks City Manager Sharon Lynn for her impactful leadership over the past 8 years!
