Recognizing Our Volunteers: Terry Kistler

Terry Kistler is a member of the Rehoboth Beach Main Street Board of Directors and co-chairs the Promotions Committee. He has led his committee members recently to plan the March Meatball Showdown and the April Gumbo Crawl. The committee is also currently planning the RBMS Fashion Show, 2022 Community Unity Dinner, and other events to promote downtown Rehoboth Beach.

Terry is one of the most community-minded folks in Coastal Delaware. Originally from Pennsylvania, he lived in Florida for more than 10 years, working in the restaurant industry. He moved to Delaware in 2008, and currently serves as Vice President, Southern Delaware Business Relationship Officer, for WSFS Bank. Terry was recently named as a Resource Group Leader for the WSFS Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI) Steering Committee and is co-chair for Pride.

Terry’s expertise & warm, inviting demeanor is also shared with other community organizations. He was one of the founders of the Rehoboth Beach Bears, serving as Treasurer and President on the RBB board, and also served as President of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society. In all that Terry does for WSFS, RBMS, and other organizations, he shares some of his key tenets to live by—including “Be true to yourself. Remember, there is only one of you and it is important to love who you are”; “Teamwork makes the dream work—we accomplish more when we work together and we all win”; and

“Love is love, and it is important to treat everyone with dignity and respect.”

Terry and his partner Chris have been together for 14 years. We are all lucky to have Terry with us in Rehoboth Beach during the last 14 years, as well!
