Showcasing Rehoboth Beach Businesses: Cooter Brown's

Looking for some down-home southern cuisine but with a little pizzazz for lunch or dinner for you and the family? Cooter Brown’s at 70 Rehoboth Avenue features their own Twisted Southern Kitchen and Bourbon Bar. An easy walk from the beach and boardwalk, Cooter Brown’s is a dining mainstay on the second story at the southeast corner of Rehoboth Avenue and 1st Street, accessible by both stairs and elevator.

Cooter Brown’s menu features scrumptious southern entrees including smoked brisket, pulled pork pierogis, chicken waffles, classic poutine, crabcake sandwich, Cuban pulled pork, blackened shrimp, and burgers, just to name a few. With true southern flare, Cooter Brown’s classic recipes deliver real taste with brines, smoke, and pickling. A favorite for many is pulled pork tacos in bourbon brown sugar BBQ with pickled red onion, ‘Bama slaw, and a side of dirty rice. They also offer kid’s plates and classic sides—and don’t miss the Bourbon Pecan Pie! And it gets better! Cooter Brown's Twisted Southern Kitchen and Bourbon Bar has an extensive collection of over 175 (and counting) bourbons and whiskeys, the largest in Rehoboth Beach. Cooter Brown’s specializes in seasonal craft cocktails with house-made syrups and shrubs. The best way to discover what you have been missing out on is to come in and try for yourself! You can read more about the menu and order-out selections at their website! Phone: 302-567-2132.

Seeing they have over 175 bourbons really caught my eye, and the pulled pork tacos with 'Bama slaw sound like a must-try Nano Banana 2

The menu combines Southern favorites and Slither io twists, like pulled pork tacos, smoked brisket, chicken waffles, and crab cakes — plus classic burgers and po’boys.

I stopped by Cooter Brown’s after a walk on the beach and I have to say the food was truly “twisted southern” — both familiar and strange, especially the pulled pork tacos which were absolutely delicious! It felt like playing Drift Boss, where you think you know the way but the unexpected turns make the experience much more interesting. Will definitely be back to try more bourbon!
