Rehoboth Beach Main Street Update
What’s happening at Rehoboth Beach Main Street-
The Promotions Committee reports, the Rehoboth Beach Cookie Crawl, held December 21, was a success, attracting many visitors into downtown Rehoboth Beach for holiday shopping and dining. Rehoboth Beach Main Street will bring this event back next year with additional promotional efforts. 2019 initiatives are currently on the coordination phase to attract visitors into downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware year round.
The Design Committee reports, they are coordinating The Town and Cottages Awards. These coveted awards commemorate the preservation and renovation of our charming downtown community, from Best Garden to New Construction. More to come as the Committee continues planning.
The Committee is also coordinating The Rehoboth In Bloom program for Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and they are seeking volunteers. This is a subcommittee of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, and their first volunteer meeting will take place Friday, February 15, 1:00 p.m. at The Pines Restaurant on Baltimore Avenue.
Planning for the 2019 Rehoboth Beach Main Street Banner program is also underway with more details to come.
The Economic Vitality Committee is planning the Rehoboth Beach Main Street Strategic Doing ™ workshop to be held February 21, 2019, 1:00 p.m., at the City Hall, 3rd Floor Training room. The workshop will be facilitated by Troy Mix, Associate Director and Policy Scientist with University of Delaware’s Biden Institute for Public Policy and Administration, and Edward Lewandowski, Coordinator, Sustainable Coastal Communities Initiative Delaware Sea Grant, University of Delaware College of Earth, Ocean and Environment. All businesses and commercial property owners located within two blocks of the boardwalk which includes Rehoboth, Baltimore, Wilmington Avenues, and 1st and 2nd Streets, were invited to this workshop. City Commissioners, the Town Manager, and Communications Manager were also invited. To adhere to the Strategic Doing ™ strategy, the workshop allows for 25 business participants.
The Committee is also going to plan a series of workshops presented by the Small Business Development Center, on the behalf of Rehoboth Beach Main Street.
The Organization Committee reports, Rehoboth Beach Main Street welcomes participation on its committees, and well as volunteers to help with various core projects.
